Data Analyst - AI Enabler

Metro Global Solution Center (MGSC) is internal solution partner for METRO, a €31.6 Billion international wholesaler with operations in more than 30 countries. The store network comprises a total of 623 stores in 21 countries, of which 522 offer out-of-store delivery (OOS), and 94 dedicated depots. In 12 countries, METRO runs only the delivery business by its delivery companies (Food Service Distribution, FSD).

HoReCa and Traders are core customer groups of METRO. The HoReCa section includes hotels, restaurants, catering companies as well as bars, cafés and canteen operators. The Traders section includes small grocery stores and kiosks. The majority of all customer groups are small and medium-sized enterprises as well as sole traders. METRO helps them manage their business challenges more effectively.

MGSC, location wise is present in Pune (India), Düsseldorf (Germany) and Szczecin (Poland). We provide HR, Finance, IT & Business, Branding, Strategy operations support to 31 countries, speak 24+ languages and process over 18,000 transactions a day. Your Responsibilities:   

• Quantify business impact by developing and implementing robust ROI models to measure the effect of AI use cases, from initial feasibility to post-implementation benefit tracking. 

• Own and evolve the central AI Value Tracker, preparing and presenting insightful reports for All-hands, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), and board-level presentations. 

• Partner with leadership by collaborating directly with the AIA squad leads, Program Manager, and Finance to align on value realization metrics and ensure financial rigor in all use case assessments. 

• Identify new opportunities by proactively analyzing business operations and customer data to champion new, high-impact avenues for AI and automation across METRO. 

• Drive data initiatives by partnering with squad leads to stabilize existing dashboards and implement new ones that support cross-functional needs, operating with a high degree of autonomy. 

• Serve as a central point of contact for data-related topics, championing data quality by identifying issues and supporting resolution efforts to ensure accurate tracking and reporting. 

• Deliver actionable insights by translating complex datasets and financial metrics into compelling narratives and visualizations that support strategic decision-making across the organization. 

• Promote data literacy by empowering product teams and stakeholders to use data effectively in their daily work, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making. 

Required key competencies and qualifications:  

• Proven experience of 5-8 yrs in Data Analytics.

• Proven experience in a Data Analyst or similar role, with a strong focus on business metrics and value realization, ideally within agile, cross-functional teams. 

• Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities, with demonstrated experience building ROI models. 

• Expertise in Excel for financial analysis, alongside proficiency in data visualization and storytelling using tools like Looker Studio (preferred), Power BI, or Tableau. 

• Intermediate to advanced SQL skills, with a track record of querying large datasets in BigQuery or similar environments. 

• A solid understanding of AI project economics and the lifecycle of tracking use case KPIs. 

• Solid understanding of centralized data platforms and the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem. 

• Proactive, self-aware, and customer-oriented mindset, with a positive and collaborative attitude. 

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex data simply and effectively to an executive audience. 

• Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
